Fun of Pintrading If you've already had an opportunity to trade pins, whether they were Olympic pins, Hard Rock Cafe pins, or Disney pins, then by now you know the fun that comes with trading and collecting. Disney pins are well suited for collecting because of the many different types of pins you can include in your collection. You might simply want to collect pins that are attractive to you. You might want one of every Mickey pin you can find, or you might want a pin from every Disney park. Some collectors collect character pins, while others concentrate on resort pins - you can be your own boss and decide what you'd like to go after. If you haven't done any trading and aren't familar with which pins are the most desirable, trust your eyes and don't be afraid to ask questions. If you only trade for pins that are attractive to you, you'll be happy. Remember, you're the one who will enjoy them when you get home. Establishing your collection is only half the fun, though. Interacting with other collectors, learning from them as they learn from you. Exchanging the stories and information you've gained for fresh information is sometimes worth as much as the exchange of pins. So keep your ears open too, chances are you'll find out something you didn't know. The bottom line to pintrading is having fun, and making it fun for others. If you can live with that suggestion, there's no doubt you'll have a great time. I'd enjoy hearing about some of the fun - if you have a great story, please drop us a line and relate it to us. We just might include it on the site for others to enjoy! I also encourage you to visit some of the websites listed on the links page - there are numerous relatings of pintrading experiences, as well as additional suggestions for trading and collecting. It's a great hobby. Enjoy! - Bill Papa, bmp@mindspring.com
